Donnie Yen, a world renowned kung fu actor, recently attended a charity dinner hosted by an international AIDS research organization alongside his family. However, he left angrily half-way through with his wife and daughter as he claimed his family were badly treated by staff members of the organization. He believed that the poor attitude towards him and his wife was a result of his race and nationality.

As an outsider, we probably will not know the full story behind this incident as we have just listened to Donnie’s version. However, the incident has brought up a strong message:

People should treat each other equally and with respect regardless of race, nationality, social status, etc. Just as what the great philosopher and thinker, Immanuel Kant, said: “The intrinsic value of human beings is dignity!”

Donnie has said since the organization’s staff members had insulted him at this event, he would accordingly stop all of his financial support for this world famous charity. Well, we want to change Donnie’s mind on that: don’t let racist behavior win! If no longer supporting that charity, you may consider turning your attention to us, the Hong Kong AIDS Foundation, because donations and kindness should be given to those who truly understand what equality is and we are always grateful for any support we receive.

Let’s salute to the “strongest figure in the universe”! Enquiries / Donations : (852) 2560 8528
