According to local HIV/AIDS situation released by the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health, a total of 34 new HIV infections were Filipino women and Indonesian women in 2018. There was a 100% increase in the number of cases compared to the previous year. To deal with the growing trend of HIV infection among ethnic minority women, the Hong Kong AIDS Foundation has been continuing a “Peer Power” – HIV Prevention and Sexual Health Programme for Ethnic Minorities.
