Ms. SHEN Jie

Former Vice President of the Chinese Association of STD and AIDS Prevention and Control

  • Ms Shen Jie was graduated from The People’s Liberation Army Naval Medical University in 1976; obtained master’s degree in London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in 1993. In 1995, she worked in the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China, Department of Disease Control and Prevention, managing sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS, and became the deputy director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as the director of the Center for Sexually Transmitted Diseases and AIDS in 2001. She was appointed as the secretary of the center 4 years later. Ms Shen Jie served as the deputy director of the Chinese Association of STD & AIDS Prevention and Control during 2009 to 2020, and is now serving as the Honorary Director of the China AIDS Fund for Non-governmental Organizations Advisory Committee, and Honorary Editor-in-Chief of “Chinese Journal of AIDS & STD”.
  • Ms Shen undertook the formulation of national policies and plans for AIDS prevention and control, as well as the design and implementation of international cooperation projects.
