Dr. Chien-Yu CHENG

Chief of Division of Infectious Diseases and the assistant professor of Public Health at the National Yang Ming University

  • Dr. Chien-Yu Cheng joined the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Taoyuan General Hospital as a staff physician since 2010. He is currently a chief of Division of Infectious Diseases and the assistant professor of Public Health at the National Yang Ming University, Taipei, Taiwan.
  • Dr. Cheng received his medical degree from the National Yang Ming University of Medicine in 1995. After an internship in the Department of Internal Medicine, National Taiwan University Hospital, he completed a residency in the Department of Internal Medicine at the National Taiwan University Hospital. This was followed by a fellowship in Division of Infectious Diseases at the National Taiwan University Hospital. He then stepped into the filed of tropical medicine diseases in Southern Africa, Swaziland since 2009, and was devoted his effort in treatment of HIV/AIDS and TB for 2 years. His research interests include clinical management of transmitted drug resistance of HIV infections, combination antiretroviral therapy, sexually transmitted infections, and viral hepatitis C co-infection. He is also a researcher, and published almost 60 peer review articles. Dr. Cheng is a member of the Taiwan Infectious Diseases Society and Taiwan AIDS Society and leads Taiwan HIV Study Group.
